New Account!

Mon Jan 12, 2009, 5:34 PM
As some of you have already found out, I've moved to a new account. I've never really been happy with this username and quite frankly I'm tired of getting raised eyebrows when I tell people in person what this account name is. Here's my new, more respectably named account:

:iconamandamyers:

I hope that most of you will still show interest in my work by picking up your watch there. Keep an eye out for a few new aardvark prints coming tomorrow or the day after :)

Hahaha, I had to fave the Unicorn of Death. It was too funny!

Oh, I discovered this mexican print workshop called El Taller de Grafica Popular that did work from 1937-1977. I haven't found much art by the group online or in the library but what I have found is fucking fantastic. I'm trying to order a book off of amazon with art work from them. Unfortunately it's in spanish, but the pictures are what I'm buying for. When it comes in, you have to remind me to show you.

Your aardvark scouts remind me a little of Vaughn Bode's Cobalt 60.

Creepy stuff, really. And it looks like your printmaking is steadily improving as well. Good work.
:iconwolf-atha-door:
I've never heard of Vaughn Bode or Cobalt 60. Should I be embarrassed? I will definitely look it up though! Thanks for the comment!
:iconkyngdok:
Bode's work is pretty esoteric, and Cobalt 60 is, I think, not his best known work, so I wouldn't worry about it if you'd never heard of him. I think he also did the art for the movie Bakshi movie, Wizards, but I'm not 100% sure.
